Tanahun: In Bandipur rural municipality-1 Baniatar of Tanahun, three-year-old son Sulabh Periyar was attacked by a leopard and seriously injured on Wednesday evening.
At around 5 o’clock in the evening, after a leopard attacked and injured the Khasi of Hem Bahadur Rana of the same place, the leopard also attacked the boy Pariyar. After the Rana made a fuss, the escaped leopard again entered the village and attacked Pariyar. Komalraj Kafle, Head of Division Forest Office, said that he was dragged away by a leopard while he was playing in the backyard at around 6:00 p.m.
When Pariyar started to be taken away, his mother also ran after the leopard. Vasu Panth, a local eyewitness, informed that she managed to get her son after reaching about 50 meters away. The injured Pariyar was given first aid at Moti Health Clinic in Bandipur Rural Municipality-4 Dumre. He was sent to Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur for further treatment, informed Purnasin Thapa, outgoing chairman of the rural municipality.
Pariyar has wounds on his neck and other parts of his body. Just a few months ago, 5-year-old Supreme Bagale of Bandipur-1 was attacked by a leopard and died. In that incident, two people, including a girl, were injured by the attack of the leopard. -Rasus
