Kathmandu. Incidents like murder and violence are increasing in recent days.

Meanwhile, 53-year-old Shyam Bahadur Shahi, a resident of Bandipur rural municipality-1 Dumrebazar of Tanahun, was killed by strangulation on Monday.

An unidentified person or group took Shahi’s life. Superintendent of Police Vinod Silwal of District Police Office Tanahun informed that Shahi’s dead body was found in Dhuldhunga bush located in Bandipur rural municipality-4.

Shahi, who was running a grocery store in Dumrebazar, had gone missing since Sunday night. The family requested the police to search for Shahi. According to Superintendent of Police Silwal, the deceased Shahi had a sharp weapon injury on his neck.

On Monday, while going fishing, local residents saw Shahi’s body and reported it to the police. Police said that the body was sent to Damauli Hospital for post-mortem and an investigation into the incident has been started.

Police have sent a trained dog from Pokhara on Monday night to investigate the incident. It is speculated that Shahi may have been killed due to financial temptation.
