After the son did not get a good job abroad, his father shot and killed the ‘agent’ who would send him to work abroad. Police have arrested one person on the charge of shooting and killing 55-year-old Paras Puri of Kapilvastu Krishnanagar Municipality-10.
50-year-old Pashupati Kurmi of Vijayanagar Rural Municipality-1 was arrested by the police. Deputy Superintendent of Police Dharmaraj Bhandari said that he was arrested from Kapilvastu municipality-10 Nepal-India border.
Puri was shot dead on 17th Chait 2075 at 9:30 pm. Bhandari said that Kurmi, who was fleeing after the murder, was detained and questioned after the identity of the accused was revealed.
Puri was involved in sending youth abroad for foreign employment. Puri took 1 lakh 15 thousand rupees to send Kurmi’s son abroad.
Kurmi started asking for money back saying he was not getting a good company and salary for being sent to Bahrain. According to Bhandari, Kurmi planned to kill him after repeatedly not getting money.
Three persons including Kurmi are defendants in this. They planned the murder while staying in Dhakari village of Siddharthnagar, India. That evening, all those people came on a motorcycle and reached Puri’s house. Argued with him and demanded the money back.
However, Bhandari said that when Puri did not pay, Katuwa shot him dead with a pistol. After the shooting, the villagers gathered in a commotion. Bhandari said that they set off explosives targeting the villagers and fled on a motorcycle.
He said that other people involved in the incident are being searched for. Bhandari said that an investigation has been started in the murder of Kurmi.
