Captain Dikshant Thapa, serving in the Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army, has died. The Times of India reported that Captain Thapa died in a car accident in eastern Ladakh.
Indian media reported that Captain Thapa died on the spot when a trailer hit an army vehicle on Sunday night.
It is not clear in which Gorkha regiment Thapa, who died on Sunday evening, was serving and where his whereabouts are.

A man who escaped from police custody was thrashed by an angry mob near Kilkili village of Dhakukhana in Assam’s Lakhimpur district on Thursday morning. He died of beating. The deceased has been identified as 45-year-old Raju Baruwa.
According to an information, various cases of rape and murder are pending against the deceased and he along with two other criminals escaped from police custody from Dhakukhana court on Tuesday. But on Thursday morning, some locals caught him and brutally beat him before handing him over to the police.
The police reached the spot after receiving the news of the incident. The police tried to save Raju who was seriously injured but said that there was a large number of people there. Two policemen who went to save Raju from the crowd were also injured.
Lakhimpur District Superintendent of Police B.M. Rajkhowa told the media, “We came to know about the incident on Thursday morning. By the time the police team reached the spot, the accused was seriously injured. He was taken to a local hospital where he died.”
According to the police officer, more than a dozen cases of robbery, extortion and murder have been registered against the accused Raju. In this incident, the police have registered a case of murder against an unknown person.
